Contracting (Mining & Civil / Crushing / Port Services)
Catalano’s has a fully equipped mining and civil contracting division capable of undertaking substantial earthmoving, civil contracting, mining and crushing contracts across the Metropolitan, Mid-West and South-West regions. Our contracting division also provides a number of services to port operators on a long term contract basis.
We own & maintain a comprehensive fleet of scrapers, excavators, dozers, dump trucks, graders, , loaders, crushers, screeners and other earthmoving & processing equipment to support our own quarrying activities and our contracting divisions. Specific examples include:
- Scrapers – Comprehensive range including Caterpillar 657 twin power push / pull scrapers plus numerous other scrapers of varying types including 637’s, 651’s, 639’s.
- Crushers/Screeners - Numerous large mobile crushing & screening circuits
- Dozers - Full range of Caterpillar dozers from D6’s through to D11’s
- Excavators - Komatsu PC1250 – 120 tonne excavators plus a number of 80, 65, 45, 30 & 20 tonne units.
- Dump Trucks - Caterpillar 777 – 85 tonne dump trucks, Komatsu HD465 – 50 tonne dump trucks, Caterpillar D400 / RT740 – 40 tonne articulated dump trucks.
- Front-end loaders – full range from Caterpillar 992’s down.
- Compactors - Caterpillar 835 and 835 sheeps foot compactors
- Graders – A range of Caterpillar Graders from 16H down
- RTD’s - Caterpillar 690 rubber tyre dozers
All of our plant is available for hire.
Our supervisors and project management personnel are highly experienced and qualified. All operators have National Certificates of Competency 7019 in the equipment being worked and we have our own trainer / assessor to evaluate candidates performance and provide training & instruction.
B & J Catalano also has extensive experience with Trimble GPS for grade / level controls and we own a number of base stations & have equipment fitted devices on scrapers, dozers, excavators & graders.
B & J Catalano currently holds a number of long term contracts but also regularly undertakes works on a short-term contract basis.
